Cisco has released an updated version of its home router Dual Band "N" now known as the E4200v2, with network speeds of up to 450 Mbps in each of the two bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), with a total of up to 900 Mbps. The company has also launched an application for IOS and Android that allows users to change network settings.
The E4200v2 still offers the same features as the previous version, including a set of 3 × 3 MIMO antennas, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, WPA2, SPI firewall protection and support for IPv6.
It is designed to be incorporated into a family network that includes home theater, as well as computers or game consoles and other Internet-enabled devices. Internal and external amplifiers are combined with six antennas to reduce the possibility of deadlocks, and the Virtual USB feature makes it easy to add peripherals such as printers and NAS drives.
